Local crime info at your fingertips

Residents across St. Helens can check levels of crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB) on their streets - thanks to new information published via www.police.uk.

By typing in a postcode, people can immediately find out about crime and ASB in their area - and be given advice on contacting their local policing team. They can also see what the police, in partnership with local community safety agencies, are doing to make their area safer.

The website comes complete with an interactive map, giving the public details of their neighbourhood policing team, policing priorities, local ward area and policing meetings, crime prevention advice and figures for all crime types.

Councillor Sue Murphy, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, Safer Communities and Youth said: "The website enables local communities to better understand what's happening on their streets.

“By making this information available, it raises awareness about what the police and local agencies are doing to tackle crime and disorder - and how people can support their local police."
