Don 't Let Them Spoil This Picture Dream

At this time of year, we sometimes see an increase in anti-social behaviour in St.Helens' parks and open spaces.

Although our parks are patrolled on a regular basis, you may see things that we don't see -which is why we're asking visitors to St.Helens parks to help with our summer campaign to tackle anti-social & nuisance behaviour.

Park visitors are in a unique position to both enjoy our public spaces & facilities, but also to help prevent crime & keep our parks safe spaces.

#Ready2Report will see local agencies working together in response to community reports of dangerous issues such as off-road vehicle nuisance, nuisance grassland fires and underage drinking in parks and open spaces - as well as nuisance environmental ASB - such as litter, graffiti and dog fouling.

Your eyes & ears are a valuable crime prevention tool - already having contributed towards a 29% reduction in ASB reported to the Police as part of our spring campaign push this year. We want to build on this success in our parks.

Here you will find information to help with the reporting of anti-social behaviour -  who you can get help from & what you can do to stay safe.

By reporting environmental ASB such as vandalism to park equipment, littering, uncontrolled dogs & dog fouling to St.Helens Council - it allows the emergency services to prioritize & respond to serious incidents of criminal ASB in parks, such as threatening or offensive behaviour, drug dealing & drinking, nusiance fires & the illegal off-road vehicles use such as scramblers.

Your photographs can help too!

We have also joined forces with the St.Helens Community Archive, part of the popular 150 programme, in order to promote public awareness & support for safety in parks -  by asking park visitors to share positive photographs of park life & scenery.

As well as contributing to the archive - your pictures will be used as part of our #Ready2Report social media campaign with the message; don't let them ruin this picture (like the one of Dream above)- to help spread the message that anti-social behaviour, vandalism & environmental nuisance will not be tolerated in our parks.

We want the small minority of people who try to ruin other's enjoyment of parks to know that our communities are #Ready2Report nuisance behaviour when they see it!

So please upload your photographs to the St.Helens Community Archive - simply register for an account and share your image - and you could see it on our social media channels very soon.

Alternatively you can send them to safercommunities@sthelens.gov.uk
