Anti-social behaviour covers a wide range of unacceptable activity that causes harm to you, your community or your environment.
It can cause significant fear & distress to local communities & is treated seriously by all local agencies in St.Helens.

Anti-social behaviour can fit into two categories; environmental or criminal, & both can be reported & dealt with in different ways.

Environmental ASB includes;

  • Rowdy & noisy neighbours
  • General vandalism
  • General graffiti, such as 'tagging'
  • Uncontrolled pets
  • Dog Fouling
  • Abandoned vehicles
  • Unkempt gardens, rubbish dumping
  • Shouting & name-calling
  • Littering

ArrowYou can contact the Council's Contact Centre on: 01744 676789 if you want to report any of the above, or if you want support or advice with an issue you feel you can handle yourself. The Contact Centre will log your call & refer you to the relevant team in the council to help you.

If you are a tenant of a Registered Provider of Social Housing or Housing Association, you can contact your landlord as they have
powers to tackle anti-social behaviour too!

 Criminal ASB includes;

  • Vandalism that is linked to threatening and/or offensive behaviour
  • Graffiti linked to threatening and/or offensive behaviour (e.g.: involving racism or other hate crimes)
  • Buying drugs on the street
  • Drinking on the street
  • Threatening or drunken behaviour
  • Setting off fireworks late at night
  • Off-road motor vehicles

ArrowContact Merseyside Police to report criminal ASB. You can call the non-emergency number on 101, or report online using social media - simply tweet @MerPolCC on twitter or direct message them on the Merseyside Police Contact Centre Facebook page.
But always call 999 in an emergency situation.

An emergency is something that demands an immediate response, for example: 

  • A crime is happening now
  • People are injured
  • People are being threatened or are in danger
  • The offender is still there or is nearby
