Crack down on dog fouling
During the past year St.Helens Council has issued 14 Fixed Penalty Notices to people who allow their dogs to foul without cleaning it up.
The latest was in the Parr area of the town when a male walking two dogs did not clean up after both dogs fouled. The male was approached by a Council dog warden and cautioned. But when asked for his details the man ran off.
He was located a few days later at a local address and with the assistance of Merseyside Police. His full details were obtained and he was issued two Fixed Penalty Notices (1 for each dog)The offender has until the 24th August to pay £100.
But it’s not all bad news. Throughout the summer Council Dog Wardens have been rewarding residents who do clean up after their pets by entering them into a monthly prize draw to win a £10 voucher.
They have rewarded residents for looking after their pets responsibly in Victoria Park, Taylor Park , Queens Park, King George V, Haydock and throughout August will be concentrating on Haresfinch Park.
