101 - New non-emergency Police number

Merseyside Police has a new, easy to remember Non - Emergency Number. If you have a less urgent enquiry or issue, rather than use 999, you should call 101.

It is being introduced to every police force across England and Wales to improve access to the police, ease pressure on 999 and help the police efficiently and effectively tackle crime and disorder. The only difference with this new number is that it is easier to remember than the old one. As before, calling 101 will not result in your call receiving a lower priority than if you had called 999 about a non-emergency issue.
